Lafayette, LouisianaThe majority of employees based in Lafayette work offshore on Marathon's assets in the Gulf of Mexico. With a population of 246,000, Lafayette is the fourth largest city in the state. Located at I-10 and Hwy 49 in south central Louisiana, the Vermilion River runs through the center of the city. Lafayette has a strong tourism industry, attracted by the Cajun and Creole cultures of the surrounding region. The city also boasts numerous festivals and one of the highest restaurant counts per capita of cities in the area. Residents are served by the Lafayette Regional Airport and also by passenger rail. It is home to the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and the semi-pro football team, the Lafayette Bayou Bulls. |
