When we partner with host countries and local organizations to build a competitive workforce, foster favorable operating conditions and support sustainable systems, we generate long-term value not only for our assets but also for the communities in which we work and live.

• Marathon and its business partners teamed up with the Government of Equatorial Guinea and health specialists to develop an innovative and holistic malaria control project on Bioko Island. In its first two years, the project succeeded in reducing malaria transmitting mosquitoes by 95 percent and the presence of malaria parasites in children by 44 percent.

• Marathon is working to combat one of America's worst public health crises in a nationwide methamphetamine awareness and prevention campaign. To date the community-driven presentation has reached 42 communities and 11,000 people.
