Heather Copeland
Heather Copeland, the radiant guiding light at the Early Childhood Center in the Tuttle Public Schools District, possesses a remarkable gift for adaptability. With her students returning to the classroom after a pandemic-induced hiatus, she harnessed her flexibility to facilitate a smooth transition back to learning. Heather's educational beliefs places hands-on experiences at the forefront, creating a dynamic and engaging environment where little minds can flourish.
Her sensitivity to the diverse backgrounds of her students became evident when she encountered a challenge with the family of one of her English-speaking students. With unwavering determination, she bridged the gap, ensuring the child's understanding and fostering open communication with the parents. Yet, Heather's exceptional approach reached its zenith with a Spanish-speaking student, who, thanks to her innovative teaching methods, now commands nearly 200 English vocabulary words and confidently converses in full English sentences. Heather Copeland's out-of-the-box thinking has not only rekindled the joy of learning but has also helped her students transcend language barriers and embrace the beauty of a multicultural world.
