Pauline Heredia
Pauline Heredia, the high school autism teacher at Hobbs High School, is a pillar of dedication and inclusion. Beyond her commitment to academic excellence, she weaves magic into the high school experience of her students, making each day an opportunity to learn, enjoy and create lasting memories.
In her special education program, she orchestrates efforts to ensure that her students feel no different from their peers. A true community builder, Pauline collaborates with general education teachers to foster inclusivity. For instance, during Halloween, they joined hands to transform the school's halls into a festive wonderland, allowing her students to celebrate just like everyone else. But Pauline's mission transcends the classroom; she focuses on equipping her autistic students with the essential life skills they need to become independent and fully functioning adults. Her tireless efforts create a nurturing environment where every student can thrive, not only academically but as active and cherished members of the school community.
