Shannon Skillman
A week prior to the start of the 2022-2023 school year Shannon Skillman unexpectedly fell out of “tune” when she became the sole choir director on her Junior High School Campus. This only being Shannon’s second year as a teacher she was faced with daunting tasks, yet she knew she would have to take it up an “octave” in order to provide stability to her students.
Shannon created an organizational atmosphere for her students. As she pushed to get the choir program right on beat, Shannon prepared her students to participate in numerous choir competitions, like a local Choral Festival and State UIL Concert. This drive for her students to succeed earned Ms. Skillman’s Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced Choirs Superior ratings. By incorporating different musical cultures and experiences, Shannon builds a comfortable environment for her students to learn and expand on their musical talents.
