As a first-grade teacher at Trinity Elementary West, Tara Berger has found various ways to use technology to inspire creativity and promote learning for her students. By utilizing interactive lessons and social media platforms, Berger creates an environment of collaboration for her students. As a dedicated teacher, Berger analyzes each of her students to create a learning plan best suited for their style of learning. This means considering interests and abilities and using them to help students get the best out of the lesson. By using this approach Berger’s students have improved their NWEA test scores from 5 points to 20 points.

Tara Berger tries to create a comfortable and safe learning environment for her first graders. She strives to create a classroom environment where every student feels valued and respected, whether that is personalizing learning or providing accommodations. Tara believes that the best way for students to learn is in an environment where they feel supported.
