Trees for Houston

Part of "Living Our Values" is investing in the communities where we live and work. Each year, we invite employees to become personally involved in supporting local non-profits across our asset areas by participating in our Workplace Giving program. Through the program, our employees fund programs that improve educational opportunities, health and the overall quality of life.

Michael, financial planning manager, supports Trees for Houston in their mission to beautify Houston by planting trees that will benefit the public for generations to come. 

“I became involved with Trees for Houston almost 10 years ago when I first volunteered with Marathon Oil to plant young trees at one of their tree farms in Houston. Ever since then, I have supported Trees for Houston through volunteering and Workplace Giving because of the tremendous impact they have made on the value of land around the city and quality of the environment we live in and get to experience every day.”

After working with Trees for Houston, Michael has also begun to support Buffalo Bayou Partnership.

“Having lived in Houston for the last 20 years, I have been able to witness and support the transformation this organization has made to the areas surrounding Buffalo Bayou. We now have a recreational corridor that stretches from downtown to Memorial Park for Houstonians to enjoy.”
